Just for Fun: A Couple Handwritten Recipes
My sister scanned a couple of our grandmother's recipes. I took them and "prettied" them up, but kept the aged look that they now have.
These were handwritten and then sent to my mother (probably in the 1960s).
Enjoy.

Free Printables: Tinted Ephemera
A couple weeks ago I ran across a website that featured the covers to music and songs written to honor Abraham Lincoln following his assassination. They were beautiful and I wanted to do something with them. Hence the tinted covers you see below. I did the same for some of my favorite ephemera and vintage ads. They each measure 2.5 X 3.25 inches, but I have assembled them into an 8-1/2 X 11 inch sheet.
Enjoy.

Free Printables: Chunky Christmas Tags
I love the versatility of this shape tag. It can easily be a pocket or tuck spot, but is also just a great tag. Hope you aren't tired of Christmas tags yet. These are 4 X 4 inches. I think one way I'll use them is as a gift tag. I'll just write the To/From on the back of the tag.
Enjoy!

Free Printables: Vintage Collages
I decided to create some collage printables, similar to the ones I featured in this post. This time, rather than vintage photos, I used paintings from the Pre-Raphaelites and put them in ornate frames. I also added ephemera and miscellaneous objects they might have sitting on a desk. I like how they turned out. Oh, and the borders are Willliam Morris designs.
This first one is quite simple. Perhaps she is about to respond to the letter
she just received or is going to write in her journal.
A little more going on it this collage. I really wanted to add more metallic elements since the frame has the bronze elements. And although the coins aren't shiny and gold, they reinforce the metallic lock and keys that are strewn across her desk.
As I was making this collage, I was imagining a well-to-do British woman planning a trip to the United States. Her passport is ready. Under a brass paperweight lay the calling cards of two others who will be on the ship with her. She has a miniature painting of her daughter who won't be joining her on this trip. She is so excited that she has been carrying around her receipt for the passage for so long that it has become tattered and dirty. And she just picked up her boarding pass for the ship -- yep, the Titanic. Although the timing of the Titanic and the Pre-Raphaelites don't quite coincide, I stumbled across the Titanic ephemera images and they were too good not to use.
Enjoy.
Free Printables: Tags Featuring William Morris Fabrics
I'm planning a junk journal that uses William Morris fabric on the cover and a few of his images as the covers of the signatures. I also want to create embellishments -- tags, tuck spots, envelopes, and pockets -- using his amazing designs. I think these will pair well with some images of Pre-Raphaelite paintings. I also think they will go well in BOHO junk journals.
So I've begun making some tags. These include affirmations that all women should remember. The tags are about 2.75 X 5 inches.
Enjoy.

Continuing to learn new features in Photoshop Elements. These are today's results. They measure about 3 inches wide by 4 inches tall.
