Although I haven't yet posted my I Love Paris digital kit to my Etsy shop, I have posted another French-themed kit. This one is totally French country -- focused more on the rural life of southern France. French country is a popular style of home decor, so if you like that style, hopefully you will like this kit. I looked on Etsy and could only find one other French country journal kit and a couple French country digital scrapbook kits. There are some printables, but they are for creating decor items for you home.
So, here is my French country digital kit. Be assured that there are no watermarks on the images you receive.
This the
LINK to the kit on my Etsy shop.
These are the 15 10 X 7-inch background pages. When they are folded, the page size in the journal is 5 X 7 inches. Each sheet results in four journaling sides when folded.
There are also three 8-1/2 X 11 size pages that can be printed on the backs of ephemera, tags, journaling cards, pockets, envelopes, and so forth. They are over-sized so they will cover the entire back of the sheet so everything is covered.
Here are three belly bands -- two horizontal and one vertical. They all measure 7 inches along the length of the band. If you want to use one horizontally on a page that is, for example, 5 inches wide, simply trim one inch off of each side.
These two corner pockets/tuck spots are mirror images of each other. You can use them on different pages, or on each side of a two-page spread. I personally like the repetition of the same design in two places on pages.
These are library-style pockets. This is a perfect situation for printing one of the full-size backgrounds on the back of this sheet. When the pocket is folded, the back of the paper shows above the country animal image.
This image shows the six envelopes in the French Country kit. They are shown larger below.
Score on the four sides of the center rectangle. Fold thee two side flaps to the center and then fold the bottom flap up and glue to the side flaps. Then fold the top flap down. Ta da! you have an envelope featuring a French grain sack image.
The French were masters at using typography in their advertising (which we would now call "vintage"). Fold the same way as described for the previous envelope.
These "envelopes" fold into thirds using the faint score lines about a third of the way from the top and from the bottom. I usually don't glue mine and just insert them as journaling spots. But if you glue the sides of the bottom flap to the inside of the envelope, it is the perfect size for a gift card, or similarly sized inserts.
These are tea-bag-style envelopes. Score on the four sides around the center area. Fold the left flap to the back and glue to the inside of the large flap on the right. Fold the bottom flap up and glue to the outside back of the envelope. Then simply fold the top flap down.
This shows the five journaling cards and two chunky tags. Larger images are below.
These four journaling cards (and one on the page below) are indicative of the country-French rural advertising for local farm and produce businesses. They have a wood design for the background so they look like signs.
The bottom card is for the "Grand Magasin des Champignons" (the great mushroom store). I'll bet there are some pricey truffles in that store. And a tag that works great with the vertical belly band above.
Finally, some miscellaneous journal embellishments. The book plates are in French -- "My Memories", "My Journal", "Good Times", and "Memoires" -- a word that is the same in English and French (except that the French has an accent on the first "e"). The tabs coordinate with the background pages, as do the mini tags. The translation of the tags:
Left column: Provence (the primary country French region), "The best is yet to come", "Adventure", "Enjoy your meal", "Life in Pink", and "Love".
Right column: "Reason for being, or Purpose), "Life is beautiful", "Joy of Life", "Laugh Often", and "Love Abundantly".
I hope you like this kit. I enjoyed making it and love how the mini-journal I made with it turned out. Now to make a larger one. I'd love to hear what you think.
I LOVE IT! I'm heading over to your ETSY shop right now!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy - such a gorgeous set! :)
ReplyDeleteNice Kit and so happy for you. Enjoy the journey
ReplyDeleteWOW!! These are incredible. My grandparents on both sides are farming families, one set had a small Florida farm & the other a smaller dairy farm. I love making scrapbook layouts for my mother's room with old black & white photos from the farm so these are going to be perfect. I followed the link and will purchase from your ETSY shop. You are so very talented. So happy I found you. <3
