this Sneak Peak post. Pam designs cross stitch patterns using graph paper, and I highly recommend getting PC Stitch Pro. It is is an easy-to-use cross-stitch design software product. You can quickly and easily try draft patterns, flip, rotate, copy, paste and move design elements around the page, and change colors until you have the floss color palette you like.

They have both a standard and a professional version. The website details out the differences, but I have only used the Pro version.
My only complaint is that they do not have the overdyed flosses as part of their floss colors.
