It's About Time I Cleaned My Sewing Room

At some point the messiness gets in the way of being creative. I think it's time to straighten up my sewing room.

But not today -- leaving  to meet friends for dinner and then see the movie "Water for Elephants". Tomorrow I'm heading to Idaho with my parents for clean-up day at my grandparents' homestead/farm. Tomorrow night I'm taking my mom to a Yanni concert. On Sunday I teach the adult Sunday School class. So, my sewing room won't get cleaned until Monday (hopefully).

(See my new toy -- an Accuquilt Go! Baby cutter. Haven't done much with it yet, but will be cutting charm squares with it for a pinwheel baby quilt I need to make.)
BTW, did you see any of the royal wedding? I loved this picture of the "royal kiss" -- but not the kiss itself. Check out the little flower girl who looks totally perturbed with everything. Too funny.

Bye for now.

  2. I have to agree with the sign you posted at the top of the post - yes, creativity is messy but so much fun!!! I always love cleaning it up after though because I usually find some treasure that I bought while I was making the mess or uncover more that I forgot about.

And I'm probably one of the few on the face of the earth that did not watch the wedding, but I did see highlights last night. Loved her dress.

  3. Lovely, lovely post! I like those square quilt blocks fan-stacked on the floor (pinks, browns, and neutrals?) :D

I also loved that wedding pic! Dear Marc says the little girl looks like a gremlin. There is another pic going around of the bride kneeling for some reason which my friends showed around with great hilarity at dinner last night. (They think it's funny for suggestive reasons, I don't think so because she's kneeling about 30 inches away. Also, b/c THIS one is (actually funny) funnier. :D

  4. I can so relate! At least you have been productive. I work best in a clean environment, but it get's messed up in less than a day, and I have the gall to make my kids clean up their stuff. LOL.
I didn't see the wedding either, but I did watch a few minutes of it on the internet after seeing your photo. Too cute.

  7. Wow, just checked out your blog and I'm thinking we could be sisters LOL!! How was the Yanni concert? My son played a wonderful piano piece of his once with a couple of friends for a school concert. It was a real hit and I still love that piece even though I heard it hundreds of times. Your sewing room sounds like mine! In fact, I'm procrastinating on the computer but I should be cleaning up my room LOL
