The Countdown Begins

Three months from today my book with Martingale / That Patchwork Place will be available.

And today was the next milestone in the journey.

You can now find out more about the book and see nine of the quilts. Just go to the Martingale website by clicking the book cover image. (Or click here.)

Martingale describes my book this way:

Discover clever, beginner-friendly strategies for showcasing the abundance of fabrics available today--as well as the fabrics in your stash.
  • Choose from nine quilt patterns that are each shown in three different colorways: "coordinated scrappy," "planned scrappy," and "make-do scrappy"
  • Learn tips, tricks, and techniques including paper piecing, appliqué, alternatives for making half-square triangles, strip piecing, chain piecing, and more
  • Create patchwork quilts that use fat eighths, fat quarters, and yardage, as well as precut strips and squares
It has been a fabulous journey thus far.  I'll be going to spring quilt market in Portland with Handi Quilter and will be helping to launch my book with Martingale. Lots to do before then -- but relishing every moment.

Have a great day.

Hi Nancy I've been away from blogland for a while. Glad I checked yours and found the post about your book. I will be looking for it in the stores. Can't wait. Congratulations. Must be very exciting. Hope all's well,
Oh, btw, finished a quilt top from an Oley BOM. Victory Garden, are you familiar with it?

Forgot to say, I have a pic of it on Pinterest

(I tried to send you e-mail, but you're now a no-reply blogger. So hopefully you'll see this comment.)

Your Victory Garden quilt is gorgeous. I hadn't seen that design below.

I'm looking forward to my book coming out. I'm going to spring quilt market with Handi Quilter and will help with my book launch with Martingale/That Patchwork Place.

I just submitted a block and quilt design to Quiltmaker magazine for Vol. 8 of their 100 blocks. Fingers are crossed that they'll want to include my block since it will be good publicity for my book.

Ok, first, how did I get to be a no-reply blogger, and what do I do about it. That's partly rhetorical, since I haven't checked yet. Obviously, I received your email. Thanks for the comments on the quilt. I have several others to finish, and am making real progress, finally. Can't stand seeing them staring at me like that!
Checked out your book at Martingale. It looks terrific, I hope it sells well.
Lucky dog, getting to go to market. It must a fun, stimulating experience!
I'm going to encourage the shop where I teach to carry your book.

Congratulations on your book!!! I just realized I know you, and I have been following our blog for a while but never linked Liahona Girl, with you Nancy Allen. Anyway I am excited for you. I haven't accomplished as much as I wanted to since I have custody of the girls, they kep me busy. But it is all good.

Hi Mary. Thanks for the kind words. I am getting excited for the book to come out. I've been working with the publisher on launch activities at Spring Market -- so it is becoming more "real" with each passing day.

I would love to see inside your book, but the link seems to be broken.

I hope this is the right place to comment to win your book! It looks like a fun book, and I'm anxious to try out a few of your ideas. Thanks for the info about the color schemes and rescourses. I LOVE IT! I've been doing that for a long time with magazine pictures, but didn't know about the online help, or that EQ, which I own, could do that!!

I love scrappy quilts. I usually take a larger piece of fabric that I like, and then pull from my stash and scrap basket to find the accompanying fabrics. I also let my 8-yr old granddaughter make little scrappy quilts from my scrap basket, and OCCASIONALLY out of my stash. We have so much fun choosing "just the right" fabrics! Thanks for the great info. I've added your book to my wish list at Martingale, just in case I don't win it! :-)
