My Newest Cross Stitch Design

I haven't stitched this yet, but will hopefully have time to get it well underway this evening.  It will be stitched on 28-count linen with Weeks Dye Works floss (Charcoal, Havana, Beehive, Moss, Olive,  Red Rocks, Aztec Red, and Straw).

Nancy - That design is just adorable! I love it. I can't wait to see how this looks stitched up with the colors you chose. I can't tell you how happy I've found your blog - it's not too often you find someone who stitches, quilts and seems to like all the same things that you do. And a designer to boot!

Thanks Deb. So many quilts and cross cross stitch projects, but so little time.

Another great design, Nancy! Anything with a bee skep is a winner in my book! Love it!

Love your new design. I've just begun to work with WDW thread and some silk ones. They are beautiful

Terri: I'm a sucker for bees and beehives / beeskeps. I began collecting decorative beehives about 17 years ago -- mostly antique honeypots at antique stores. After about 3 or 4 years, they started to catch on and were easier to find (plus eBay helped me complete my collection).

Linda: Don't you love stitching with silk? I do like the WDW threads because of look of the overdyed colors. But, as you probably know, you need to complete each stitch rather than do a row with stitches in one direction, and then finish the row with all of the stitches in the opposite direction. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of using this variegated floss.

Hi
I do love the WDW threads. I'm going to seem really dumb here, but when I first started working with them, I didn't realize why it was necessary to finish a stitch. The variegation makes a lovely texture.
